Draw a plan of your garden and flowerbeds indicating your desired results of this year’s garden.
Have soil tested for nutrients and pH levels.
Prepare the soil.Apply compost from our compost bin.Add 4 pounds of 10-10-10 Fertilizer per 1,000 square feet of area to be planted.Also, broadcast spaghnum peat moss one inch deep over the entire garden and broadcast 50 pounds of gypsum (calcium sulfate) to free up tight soils and lower the pH.Rototill all the above materials in.
Plant certified seed potatoes and onion sets.
Tip of the week:
Apply pre-emergent herbicides to lawns with fertilizer now and finish pruning fruit trees as needed.Soil testing at Cashman Nursery Saturday April 28th at 11 am until 4 pm.
