Container Gardening
We recommend starting with new, light potting soil every year since container growing flowers and veggies is "intense gardening" and we want your plants to perform as good as possible. Use potting soil that does not pack hard and one with a wetting agent to keep the soil mix moist longer. This will make less stress between the waterings. Make sure there are drain holes in the container and it is a good idea to have a saucer beneath the pot. This catches excess water and the evaporting water will tend to keep the plants healthier.
In our containers, we planted several types of herbs so we can use them while cooking as the summer goes on and we will bring the containers inside in September and have fresh Herbs all winter!
